Olivia Newton-John - Greensleeves (and Amoureuse)
In 1976 Glen Campbell and Olivia Newton-John had a TV special called "Down Home, Down Under" (according to Wikipedia). I would actually pay money for a high-quality DVD of this show, but I don't think it's available (I will look on Amazon later). Olivia sang one of my favorite songs of hers, "Greensleeves", during one segment of the show. Greensleeves is an extremely old song, of course, and it has been done by tons of artists, but Olivia's is my favorite version. The scenery in the video is pretty nice, too.
Here is the YouTube video of it ...
The funny thing about that YouTube video is that it was just uploaded yesterday by an Olivia Newton-John fan. The video was available over a year or two ago on YouTube, but it was taken down for some reason (as if people can purchase it somewhere else ... which they can't as far as I know). I have a feeling it will be taken down again so I will post it again below for posterity ...
Update ... There is another good video of Olivia Newton-john on YouTube that was uploaded by the same person who uploaded the "Greensleeves" video. The video is Olivia singing the song, "Amoureuse", at a 1974 Nana Mouskouri concert. The video, along with Olivia's look and expressions, has that quintessential 70s look that reminds me of movies like "Carrie". The song is good, too.
Here is the video again just in case it gets deleted from YouTube (which happens a lot!) ...
I know there is a German version of "Xanadu". It's by a German singer named Irene Sheer. I used to have it on my computer, but I don't anymore. I really need to archive this kind of stuff somehow so I don't lose it.
