Song in my head
I was surfing the internet while listening to songs from U2's "Achtung Baby", and "So Cruel" came on. I really like this song. I was trying to think of an image to go with the song, and I thought of the themes of "love" and "heartbreak". I did a Google search for those words, but nothing came up. Somehow, I got the idea to put a scene from David Lynch's "Mulholland Drive" as the image for the song. In that movie, everything is going well between Naomi Watts and Laura Harring until they go see a performance where a woman sings a Spanish version of Roy Orbison's song, "Crying". When they get back home, they are transported into some parallel universe via some strange blue object (it's been a while since I have seen the movie). In the new world, Naomi is separated from Laura and the movie ends in death and depression. Therefore, this image should go with the song pretty well ...
U2 - So Cruel
I think the best scene of "Mulholland Drive" is when Naomi Watts' character, Betty, auditions for a part. Her character has seemed so wide-eyed, naive, and innocent in the beginning of the movie, but the audition shows that she can be a completely different woman if she wants.
Here is the "Llorando" (Crying) scene ...
