Songs in my head on this rainy Sunday (and on Monday, since I edited this today) ...
OK, I usually have a couple of songs playing in my head at any moment of the day so I like to post them here so other people can hear them. Most of these are old, but they're still great!
Madonna - Live To Tell (I went out last night and woke up with a mild hangover so this is kind of the song that I think of when I have to get through a bad moment)
I don't know that much about Uffie, but she seems to be associated with lots of cool DJs and fans of "electro" music. She has a MySpace here. She has lots of songs out there, but I am not even sure if you can buy an album by her. There is also a remix page for Uffie here. Here is the song I like by her ...
Uffie - Pop The Glock (and, yes, this song is very old ... but new to me)
Most people may know about this, but just in case they don't ... Fiona Apple's album, Extraordinary Machine, leaked on the internet a long, long time ago. However, it wasn't the album version that leaked, it was the original version by the very talented Jon Brion. Fiona's fans demanded that it be released by Epic, her label(Epic is owned by Sony, I think). They sent apples to Sony's offices in protest. Fiona's songs were placed into the hands of a new producer, Mike Elizondo, who gave the songs a more finished feel. I like both versions of the album, and a couple of the songs stayed the same, such as the title song, "Extraordinary Machine". Here is an article on Wikipedia that details the whole affair. Also, here are the old and new versions of "Better Version of Me" ...

Here is a funny video of Fiona's song, Not About Love, that is also on the album, Extraordinary Machine ...
Another good song by Fiona is her cover of The Beatles' "Across The Universe", which is another good song to listen to if you are hungover. The song is on the soundtrack to the color-bending(I wanted to do a play on the phrase, "gender-bending") movie, Pleasantville.

M.I.A.'s album, Kala, debuted on Billboard's Top Album Chart at #18. Her album came out August 21, 2007 in the U.S. I think she debuted around #39 on the UK chart. I am not sure about that one, though. #18 is great for her on the U.S. chart! Arular didn't get anywhere close to that. I hope she continues to have success without being compromised. Here is a remix of her song, "Boyz", that features Akon.
M.I.A. - Boyz (Akon and Rock City Remix)
I have "oldies" in my head all the time, and one song that has been repeating itself in my head a lot lately is The Shirelles' "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow".
