Working Girl

One of my favorite movies, Working Girl, is on AMC right now. It's one of those movies that I have seen a dozen times, but I will stop and watch it again because it was done so well. Here is the trailer for anyone out there who lives on another planet and has never heard of the movie ...

Melanie Griffith hasn't been in too many good movies so it is refreshing to see her shine in this movie. Joan Cusack, Harrison Ford, and Sigourney Weaver are good as always. My favorite part of the movie is the ending, where she takes her little lunchbox to work and sits at the wrong desk (she sits at her assistant's desk and thinks that her assistant is her boss).

What a lot of people may not know is that there was a TV series, "Working Girl", based on the movie. Sandra Bullock played the lead role. The series  did not last too long.

One of the most quotable movies of the 1980s for me! Sigourney Weaver truly shines here although a warning to ambitious women looking to get ahead if you really think about it... My favorite line is from Sigourney - "I simply won't stand for that kind of talk!" - her response when confronted by a disparaging remark about her butt.
