Here is M.I.A.'s video for Paper Planes ...
Edit ... OK, I had another version of the video above before that did not sound like the album version of the song, Paper Planes. However, I found the official version of the video on YouTube, and that is what you see above now. It's good.
Here is just the song, Paper Planes ...
In other news Tori Amos got royally pissed off at two "fans" that were sitting in the front row at her concert. The two annoying people were leaving their seats to wander off and come back as they please, talking on their cell phones, taking pictures of themselves, etc. I don't know if all of that is correct, but they were doing something to annoy Tori and the people around them. When Tori kicked them out, everyone around them started applauding. It's a great scene, and it happens around 2:28 in this video ...
This post was severely edited by me. Ha! ;)
Tori Amos - Father's Son (and this is one of the "Tori" songs on American Doll Posse)
I was a little hungover this past weekend, and I was away from home. All I could think about was how I needed to get home to go into "recovery" mode. This song kept popping into my head for some reason as if it would be the soundtrack to my recovery.
Tori Amos is the master of singing with her own vocals, if that is the way to say it. I am sure there is some technical term like dubbing or laying down a dub/vocal or something like that. Anyway, there are many phrases in this song, such as "Can you blame Nature?" and "If you keep my flesh firm", that sound like Tori is her own background singer, and the effect is wonderful.
I like to call the song, "Strawberry Cactus", since Tori mentions it in the lyrics. That plant is also what is in the picture above.
Lyrics:
Steady girl on your feet
You and your wonderings
Bread can feed a few
So can some cartoons
So it ends so it begins
I'm my father's son
Plant another seed of hate
In a trusting virgin gun
Steady girl for the show
God versus God ringside
Littered with corpses
Neither God can forgive
So the desert blooms
Strawberry cactus
Can you blame nature
If she's had enough of us
So it ends so it begins
I'm my father's son
Plant another seed of hate
In a trusting virgin gun
Stead boy watch them pray
To you I suspect
If you keep my flesh firm
I'll ready those sacraments
So it ends
So it begins
I'm my father's son
So it ends
So it begins
I'm my father's son
Plant another seed of hate
In another father's son
I will probably find that I have a new favorite American Doll Posse song each day. That is what usually happens to me when I buy a new Tori Amos album. Today I jammed out to "You Can Bring Your Dog" as I drove home from work.
Here it is ...
Smokey Joe ... mainly because I like the part where the other voice is singing "It's too ... too easy ..."
Here it is ...
I can't wait to buy Tori Amos' new album, American Doll Posse. It comes out tomorrow in the States, but I am sure everyone in the UK already has it. There is a very good review of it at the Undented.com site ...

I downloaded the song, "Teenage Hustling", which has a lot of guitar in it. The quality is not that great because I had to turn the volume up on my computer more than usual to hear it well. I love the sound, though.
Here's the song ...
The reviewer says that Tori had some problems with her two most recent albums of original songs, Scarlet's Walk and The Beekeeper. However, I disagree. I actually liked those albums, especially Scarlet's Walk. He thinks that "Ribbons Undone" was awful, and I can see why a lot of people would dislike this song; but it has a pretty cool sound to it, and it fits in nicely in the context of the album.
Here is Ribbons Undone ...
Tori Amos - Big Wheel
Bjork - Earth Intruders
And here are some lesser know Tori and Bjork mixes ...

Whenever I see the title for Tori Amos' new song, Big Wheel, I think of a song by Electric Light Orchestra. To illustrate my point ...
Here is an interesting article about whether or not radio stations will be able to play Big Wheel.
