I started doing my treadmill again to attempt to get back into shape, and I listen to my iPod while I do it. Well, I was trying to find new music to listen to (besides Madonna and Prodigy) while I "jogged" on the treadmill, and I decided to try out Deee-Lite's early 90s album "Infinity Within". I actually had the cassette tape of this album when I was in high school, and I would jog/walk to it around my neighborhood. I've always thought the production on the album is superb. Here are my favorite songs from the album (along with other songs that are in my head) ...
Deee-Lite - I.F.O. (Identified Flying Object)
Deee-Lite - Runaway
Deee-Lite - Heart Be Still
Deee-Lite - I Won't Give Up
Deee-Lite - Vote Baby Vote
I actually got geeky and tried making a video for this song. I thought this song would go well with all of the election stuff going on right so here is my Vote Baby Vote video featuring images of Barack Obama (I think he should be the next president) ...
This next song, "Two Clouds Above Nine", is not my favorite song, but it does have the great line, "Damn that's my jam", which is sung numerous times during the song.
Deee-Lite - Two Clouds Above Nine
Deee-Lite - Electric Shock
Deee-Lite were way ahead of their time with the next song, "I Had A Dream I Was Falling Through A Hole In The Ozone Layer". God, that is a long title. Anyway, I wonder if Al Gore ever gets his groove on to this song ...
Deee-Lite - I Had a Dream I Was Falling Through a Hole in the Ozone Layer
Deee-Lite - Come On In, The Dreams Are Fine ... this isn't the best song, but it does remind me of Bjork's song, "The Modern Things", from her trippy album, Post.
Here is Bjork's "The Modern Things" if you want to try to figure out why the two songs remind of each other ...
Bjork - The Modern Things ...
Deee-Lite - Love Is Everything (I think I have posted this before, but
I couldn't find it in my "stuff" so here it is for the first time or again
... I am not sure)
Deee-Lite later put out an album called "Sampladelic Relics & Dancefloor Oddities". I hardly ever listen to it anymore, but it does have a cool song called "Music Selector Is The Soul Reflector" ...
Deee-Lite - Music Selector is the Soul Reflector
Speaking of Bjork I have had her song "Desired Constellation" from the album, Medulla, in my head a lot lately. Here it is ...
Bjork - Desired Constellation
In other music news ... MTV kept playing Keyshia Cole songs over and over again the other night, and one of them got stuck in my head. The song is called "Last Night" and it is actually by P Diddy, featuring Keyshia Cole. It has a cool retro sound to it, and Keyshia's voice sounds pretty good on it. I think she has a vulnerability in her voice that makes her sound like she is singing with emotion or something like that. Anyway, here is the song and video ...
P Diddy featuring Keyshia Cole - Last Night
and the video ...
OK, time to go to bed.
