I talked to someone recently about Caetano Veloso, Brazilian music, Marisa Monte, and Spanish music (like Shakira, Juanes, and Julieta Venegas) so I thought I would post some Caetano Veloso songs from a CD of his that I have called Noites do Norte. I am sure there are better Veloso songs out there, but I don't know them all. If anyone wants to recommend a better song from his library, by all means go ahead in the comments section. Eu falo um pouco em portugues. ;)
Here are some from the Noites do Norte album ...
I love that the title of the above song is the name of a famous Italian director, whose movie, L'Avventura, I love.
Here is the first song on the CD ...
Here is the second song from the album. I can't leave it out because it's very pretty. I used to play this song while driving back from lunch to my job, and I remember passing under the canopy of the trees while little bits of sunlight broke through the green leaves. It was a magical moment. Ha! I ususally don't talk like that. It's moments like those that make me want to travel more, but it's too damn expensive!

I remember back around the late 90s a friend of mine had a CD full of Speed Racer remixes. There was one remix that was especially naughty, and every time I see the preview of the new Speed Racer movie (which looks kind of cool, and it was done by the Wachowski brothers so that makes it even better), I think about this remix.
Doing a search for the remix brings up many different names. Some results say that Alpha Team did the remix. Some results say that DJ Keoki did the remix. Some results say that DJ Keoki used the Alpha Team's "hardcore" remix. The remix has been called the "orgasmic remix" and the "porno remix".
I am just going to call it the Porno remix of Speed Racer by DJ Keoki. The naughty part comes in at 3:45 in the song. Have a listen!

You can download this remix here if you want.
Here is a YouTube video with an edited version of this remix in it ...
Last night I was driving home from Dave & Buster's(a weird restaurant/bar/arcade for adults that gets a little boring after a while unless you are drunk), and I was listening to "St. Tropez" by Golden Bug, a song I got from Fluxblog. It's a cool song that reminds me of War's Low Rider and Underworld's "Bruce Lee". Take a listen ...
I did a search for "St. Tropez" in my iTunes library, and it brought up "Tightrope" by Electric Light Orchestra, too, so I need to post it here since it is such a good song ...
Also, if I am going to post "Bruce Lee" from Underworld's album, "Beaucoup Fish", then I need to post the first song on the album, "Cups", which always puts me in a very trance-like state as I listen to it ...
However, I have never liked the ending of "Cups", which makes me think of another song that starts off great, but ends badly, and that is Herbie Hancock's "Kebero (part one)", which features GiGi (aka Ejigayehu Shibabaw) on vocals ...
"The Matrix Reloaded" was on TNT, I think, a couple of hours ago so that reminded me of how much I liked the score for that film. I still think that from the restaurant scene to the end of the freeway scene is one of the greatest scenes in cinematic history(not the greatest, just one of the greatest), but I can watch it now and understand how cheesy a lot of it looks, too. Here are two favorite parts of the score, "Teahouse" by Juno Reactor, featuring Gocoo, and "Mona Lisa Overdrive" by Juno Reactor and Don Davis ...
