A friend of mine and I were driving around Austin listening to 105.9, and the song, "Day and Night (Crookers Remix)", by Kid Cudi came on. I had never heard the song, and I didn't know who sang it. When I got home, I typed "Day and Night" into YouTube's search bar, and Kid Cudi came up. I remembered hearing Kid Cudi's name because I believe he appears on one of Kanye's songs on 808s & Heartbreak.
Anyway, the main part of the song that I love is when it goes into the dirty Euromix part (that's what I call it). I think you will know what part I am talking about, and if you don't, you need to go out dancing at seedy bars more. ;)
In other news, you can now download a high-quality version of "Whachadoin'?" by M.I.A., Santogold, and Spank Rock (from the N.A.S.A. mixtape).
You can now donate money to help M.I.A.'s school in Liberia. Here is a link that will take you to a page to tell you more about it ...

They are trying to raise $5000 for the school, and I don't think the donations are exactly pouring in, yet. Maybe that will change after my powerful blog post! (Just kidding!)
Here is a video that deals with the school in Liberia ...
M.I.A., Santogold, and Spank Rock have a new collaboration out from the upcoming N.A.S.A. album called "Whatcha doin?" The song has not grown on me completely, yet, but it's not bad either. I can't wait to hear the album in its entirety, and I also would like to hear a high-quality version of this song soon.
Another song I can't seem to stop listening to is "That's Not My Name" by The Ting Tings. I love, love this song, and it reminds me a lot of "My Sharona" by The Knack.
The above video is not the official one, but the official one cannot be embedded. Here is the link to the official one ...

This is a good example of a great song and band that just passes me by until 6 months to a year after they are popular.
I'm surprised that I have never posted this song before. Hoagy Carmichael's "Stardust" is one of my favorite songs ever, and it was mentioned in the Stephen King/Peter Straub novel, "Black House" (which was a sequel to "The Talisman", which King also wrote with Peter Straub), and I looked it up after reading about it. It's a very calm, laid-back oldie, but it has tons of charm and class. Here is some info on Hoagy Carmichael. There are tons of covers of this song.

Here is Nat King Cole's version of the song, which is good, but not as good as the one above (in my opinion) ...
Here is Harry Cool's (I think that is the right name) version ...
