This is such a mainstream, overplayed, everyone's-heard-of-it kind of song, but I thought about it again tonight after seeing an article in the latest issue of TIME about Coldplay's new album. I love this video because it is really happy and tragic at the end since the two people are alive and back together, but you know the girl will die soon. It's weird how all the bad news and death in the world mean nothing to me, yet I can watch a simple video like this and it totally gets to me on some weird emotional level. There are a million movies that have done the same thing to me, but I don't have time to list them right now. I need to go to bed.

A good review of Speed Racer ...

The more I think about the movie, "Speed Racer", the more I realize that I actually thought it was pretty cool. In an IMAX theater, or on a home theater with a large flat-screen and cool surround sound (which I don't have), it would be really awesome.

I hated reading all the bad reviews of it so I thought I would post a good review of that seems to get it right ...

That review is from TIME magazine.

It's sad when movies are not appreciated in their time. A good example is "Blade Runner", which is one of the best movies ever to me, but it's lifetime gross is only about $32 million (and it was re-released recently).

I'm not saying "Speed Racer" is as good as "Blade Runner", but the visuals of "Speed Racer" blow most movies away.

More songs that remind me of other songs (inspired by Portishead's new album)

OK, there are three songs on Portishead's new album, Third, that make me think of others songs.

The first song is "Hunter", which makes me think of a song from the 1992 horror movie, Candyman, by Philip Glass called "Face to Razor".

The next song on Third is "The Rip", which makes me think of the Pink Floyd song, "On The Run", from Dark Side of the Moon. You have to listen to all of "The Rip" to hear the similar sound. Here are those two songs ...

(If you play Dark Side of the Moon with The Wizard of Oz, "On The Run" plays a little bit after the above scene.)

The next song from the Third album that reminds me of another song is "Deep Water", which reminds me of the Ink Spots' "I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire". Again, you have to listen to the Portishead song for a while to see the similarity. Here are the two songs ...

Benny Benassi

I have been wanting to listen to my Benny Benassi(Hypnotica) CD lately. My favorite song on the album is "Love Is Gonna Save Us". The song is romantic and sad at the same time, and it has this part that I call the "wind" part that is just perfect. For some reason, I thought the song would fit with the movie, "Edward Scissorhands".

My second favorite song on the album is probably "Time", and I thought a scene from the 1980 Christopher Reeve movie, " Somewhere in Time", could best sum up the concept of time(his best movie besides the first Superman).
